Notes Jeb Dunnuck's 2012

2011 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

A solid white that has a decidedly mineral-driven profile, the 2011 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a medium-bodied, round, and supple white that possesses notions of tropical fruits, honey, wild herbs, and loads of crushed stone like nuances on the nose. Rich, fleshy, and upfront, it needs to be consumed over the coming year or two. (89 pts.)

2010 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that‟s aged in foudre and barrique, the 2010 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a delicious, classy wine that yields traditional, Provencal aromas of garrigue, pepper, sweet cherries, and hints of green herbs, medium body, juicy acidity, and excellent balance. It is what I would call a workhorse Châteauneuf-du-Pape and is a character-filled effort that will drink well for a decade. (89 pts.)

2010 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve de la Comtesse (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Much more modern in style, yet also richer and more concentrated, the 2010 Domaine Comte de Lauze Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve de la Comtesse is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, where 20% of the Syrah is aged in new oak. Offering up a rich, full bouquet of vanilla-laced black cherries, pepper, plenty of garrigue, and sappy flowers, this full-bodied wine has excellent acidity, a pure, focused texture, and chewy tannin. It needs air to show at its best, so decant if drinking anytime soon. It will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age, and drink well for over a decade. (92 pts.)

TASTED Septembre 2012

Alors que les vendanges sont finies pour nous, le travail en cave continue pour la vinification. Et voici le commentaire de dégustation de TASTED.

TASTED septembre 2012

MARKUS DEL MONEGO AND ANDREAS LARSSON

88,5    DOMAINE COMTE DE LAUZE
2010 Châteauneuf du Pape  Réserve de la Comtesse
AL - Attractive, pure nose, fresh red and dark berries, white pepper and some herbal notes; the palate has pleasant freshness and ripe fruit as one expects from a 2010, medium weight and length - attractively balanced and perfectly drinkable. 88

MdM - Dark, purple red with violet hue and almost black centre. Very spicy in the nose,  aromas reminiscent of incense, mild spices and dark berry fruit.
On the palate well balanced, youthful character with some potential. 89
